Today we made fun girly decorations for St. Patrick’s Day. We plan on saving these for a future fairy party as well. They are super easy and fun to make. Check out the instructions at the bottom of the page.
Supplies:
pipe cleaners
glitter paper
fake flowers
wood beads
yarn
hot glue gun
scissors/wire cutters
clear string/fishing line
First we went to the store to grab some pretty fake flowers and feather flowers. We cut a few inches down from the bloom of the flower. Wrap a pipe cleaner around the stem to form the body and arms. Then we took the wooden bead and strung the pipe cleaner through it. Then wrap the yarn around the pipe cleaner at whatever length you want the hair. We like to start long then cut later. Finish the hair by running the other end of the pipe cleaner back through the wooden bead then wrap the extra around the dolls body. Cut the loops in the yarn to create the hair. Now the doll body is done. We made wings out of glitter paper, but you can use whatever you want. Hot glue the wings to the back of the doll. For the shirt on the doll we just glued on a leaf from the leftover flower stems that we had. To hang your fairy get some clear string or fishing line and tie one end to the doll and you are done.
